You need some cheap wheels because you are sick of paying $50 every time you go to the gas station to fill up your car. Well, scooters are a great alternative, especially the 250cc scooter. The great thing about these is that they can pretty much go as fast as a motorcycle, yet they are a lot easier to handle. It takes the intimidation factor away immediately.

What we consider today as mopeds is pretty close to what the original scooters and mopeds looked like. Basically, a bike with a motor attached to the front or rear wheel in one way or another. These forms of transportation have been around since the beginning of the 1900′s.

Have you ever heard, All things old becomes new again someday. You bet, this is true for mopeds too. A lot of scooter producers are coming out with new scooters that look retro. I think it’s sweet. I kind of like the way retro vehicles look. Scooters like the Honda Metropolitan and the Vespa GVS 250 look like old scooters from the old days.

Some people seek to lower their carbon footprint. Some are less willing to pay out big bucks at the gas pump since the economy is so bad these days. Both of these factors are leading people to discover the joy of owning a maxiscoot for basic transportation and commuting.
