Used Car Auctions
Never trust any kind of title check at used car auctions always make sure to get your own verification. Remember that anyone selling a car at an auction is trying to make money and they are not just getting rid of the car to get rid of it. The majority of time they are just trying to make money and get rid of a piece of crap car.
By the time you are done bidding it is possible that you might be paying the same price that you would pay at a private dealer. The whole reason for going to an auction is to get a car cheaper than what you would at a private dealer. And some people travel quite far to go to these auctions. So when you think about it you might be in the hole after leaving the auction and you might as well go to a private dealer.
The majority of car sellers will not have a title and they will always say that the title is in transit. I once knew someone who waited four months for a title because the people kept jerking him around. Always make sure that you do not get caught up in a bidding war and end up paying way too much for the car. Do not ever forget that you will also have to pay a buyers premium.
All of the same rules will apply when it comes to buying a car from a rental car company. These cars are still used cars and are still used by many many people. However the used cars from rental companies usually will have a free limited warranty on them from the company. Auctions are more dangerous because that is where all of the flooded and rebuilt cars usually go.
Remember that when you are buying a car on-line you can not inspect it by no means unless the car is being sold at a local auction. Now if you get an auction that is out of state then you cant look at the car at all until after you go and get it and then you might realize that it is not worth the price you paid for it by far,
In my opinion, before you get the car I would suggest getting on-line and doing a title check no matter what the auction says. An auto check report is the only thing that you have to protect you from fraud. Remember all that the buyer is trying to do is make a buck and they do not care what they have to say or do to get that money and get rid of that car.
Always make sure to open every door on the vehicle you want. Also look under the hood and make sure that all of the Vin stickers are on the vehicle and that they all match with one another. Usually if they do not match the car was stolen and then again it might have been in a wreck and had replacement parts on it.
There are many things you have to consider before you try to buy a car at a auction. For instance, ii may be cheaper to buy a new car than to take the chance of getting a car that is not worth much and then have to either pay for lawyers to try to get you out of this mess or have to pay thousands of dollars on a car that will never run right.
Want to make sure you’re getting a good value at used car auctions? Worried what you may be missing when you read car auction classifieds? Don’t get ripped off!

I agree on this issue with Brian. Chip, Matt and the DealerRater team were the pioneers in this industry, and from my perspective any company (paid or unpaid)that helps dealers get a more accurate picture of how they help customers out on the web is of value. With more than 25 million people buying new and used vehicles every year, any review site that highlights dealer performance is of value.
