  1. Dear Din,
    “Race and religion may always be a factor in the voting pattern of Malaysians but at least we can be proud to have finally buried the ghost of 1969.”

    I think this last sentence in the article sums it all. Over the years the dissatisfaction have always been there. Ibarat api dalam sekam – slowly its burning inside. The right “wind of change” came and the inferno engulfed the whole BN and yes only the BN ! No May 13 repetition that came out of it. So, change is not that bad after all

    The people have done what is required of them – that is vote for change. One part of the social contract have been signed now the counter party have to deliver. The ball is in BR's court. We have to start thinking of a compehensive implementation plan for the MEA – The Malaysian Economic Agenda.

    Din Ahmad, now it is a question of how we manage and harness the wind of change for the national good. Selangor under Tan Sri Khalid will be our role model. The MB knows that he has a big responsibility on his shoulders to repair the damage caused by “Mat Tyson”(now Senator and Minister of Rural Development), Abu Hassan Omar and Khir “Botox” Toyo and move Selangor forward as the dynamo of national development. He needs professionals like you and I am sure that phone call will come to you soon.—Din Merican

  3. I dont think your being ungratful. If they gave it to you for a birthday present then it should be yours. I have gone threw quite a few cars in my time. First one was a firebird my dad bought me it was $4000. totaled it in a month and from then on I was responsible for buying my own cars. The only thing I can say is your 18 or older now. Time to grow up. Go to a used car lot and get one with monthly payment, Go get your own insurance policy for you car your paying for with your own money, and if you dont have a job yet get one to pay for all that. Then there is no more arguing, cuz it is your car, that your paying for, with your own money. If your credit is not good enough to get a car loan from a bank or dealership get one of your partents or a grandparent to co-sign. And when you do all this and they say your ungratful tell them your not, your an adult now and your trying to make it on your own. Then you dont seem like a spoiled brat but a grown up.

  4. I just spent couple of minutes and looked in the MagpieRSS source code. I see what you are talking about.

    This chunk of code in rss_parse.inc seems to explain the problem.

    // if inside an Atom content construct (e.g. content or summary) field treat tags as text
    elseif ($this->feed_type == ATOM and $this->incontent )
    {
    // if tags are inlined, then flatten
    $attrs_str = join(' ',
    array_map('map_attrs',
    array_keys($attrs),
    array_values($attrs) ) );

    $this->append_content( “” );

    array_unshift( $this->stack, $el );
    }

    The PHP code takes the below Atom data:
    Gibberish
    Code

    And turns it in to (output as JSON):
    “dc”:{“subject”:”GibberishCode”}

    Which I agree is not a good solution, and would go as far as saying that it is just wrong. Flattening the data structure destroys a lot of the stored information (which does not have to happen).

    I can see at least one solution off the top of my head, but I do not know the ramifications of the modifications without studying the library a good bit more.
