How Performance Exhaust Systems Work and Why you Need One for Your Car
The factory installed exhaust system in your car is designed to convert harmful emissions to the minimal possible toxic waste. Unfortunately, these tend to corrode over time. Usually, you will notice that you have to change the tailpipe or the muffler and even some times the catalytic converter. If only the manufactures used performance Exhaust systems, this wouldn’t happen.
The good part of all this is that now you can learn why it is a good idea to change your system for a Performance exhaust system, plus you will earn a lot in the change. For this example, we will use a Borla Exhaust system. Why Borla, because it’s the one all other brands benchmark against. Aircraft quality material, t-304 stainless steel is what makes Borla exhaust the best of the lot.
These are the reasons why you should have a Performance Exhaust System:
1. Last Longer.
A performance exhaust system made of a stainless steel material is just part of the answer, but making it of aircraft quality will make it superior. The reasons for this is that the constant changes in temperature are what corrode and destroy your exhaust system. With this material this doesn’t happen. This is so, that Borla offers you a million mile warranty! If you install this kind of exhaust system, you will never need another one in that car.
2. It’s Economical.
How is that, you say? Two simple answers: first, you will never have to change the exhaust system in your car, and your fuel economy will improve, second, your resell value will go up, if you buy quality components.
3. Increased Horsepower.
The problem with your cheap factory installed exhaust system is that is not very efficient. Sure, it keeps pollutants to a minimum, but at the cost of restricting your engine power. A Performance Exhaust system will free up the energy in your motor and help your engine squeeze all the power from it.
4. Fuel Economy.
A more efficient engine will spend less fuel. Your engine will work better, and you will start to notice that you are saving on gas.
5. It’s Cool
Performance Exhaust systems produce a cool sounding note, and everybody will surely notice when you go by.

its not going to be a fuel pump alternator or stater. those items would not be part of a evap condition. based on the information i would start by taking a stethoscope (with open tubes, not the metal ended ones) and listen for a air leak around your intake manifold and head gaskets while car car is running in park, i believe you vehical is sucking in air, which in turn is affecting your air/fuel ratio which would cause problems like the ones you described.
