How does this dinosaur make the "news"?

All outdated technology, and with the mindset that gas is still $1.29/Gallon, and 5000lbs of mass to move STILL can be fudged be numbers via the EPA to make MPG numbers look good(yes, your mileage will "probably be lower"…hmmmm).
This whole scene is irrelevent. the truck/suv epoch thankfully is OVER, and Detroit had better start putting R&D as priority #1, instead of stockholder profitability for the next quarter.
Does half of America really WORK hauling hay and manure? Is our mentality still in the sandbox, about having more, or bigger being "better"?
I do not know
doing lots of walking are you…. I haul hay and manure and gravel and hourse food and…….
I'm not sure what your question actually is, but its obvious you aren't looking for any real answers. you just seem to be venting over something you have absolutely no control over.
That dinosaur made the news because truck of the year always does. you could ask the same about the sorry excuse for a truck that made the news last year.
Fact of the matter is, most folks who buy trucks and SUV's have purpose and practical driven reasons for buying them. nobody want's to pay higher fuel, insurance and general maintenance costs in this day and age, if they don't have to.
And although most might not haul hay and manure, many of those who are critcal might need to sniff themselves. you see, some cars are actually hauling around manure on a daily basis. and they don't even know it. <HINT>
ugh…then buy a Prius.
First of all, variable displacement is not "outdated technology", especially when gas is so expensive. It's an old technique and one that was way ahead of it's time in the 80s, but it can now be applied properly and with the right technology in place, is making a big difference in fuel mileage.
You're right though, thankfully, the consumer has caught the EPA in it's evil conspiracy to rule the world through misleading gas prices and mileage estimates. Construction and farming have both halted, and the US can now prosper correctly without pick-up trucks in it's way. also, pods on rails linking children's soccer teams between the schools, fields and homes have been built, thus eliminating the need for any vehicle that transports more than 3 people at a time. It's believed that inventor James T. Kirk has also lead the scientific world with breakthrough discoveries in teleportation, and soon, no vehicles will ever be required since we can just beam everywhere.
Soon that evil purveyor of lies and deception known as the Environmental Protection Agency will see, that they're days of being in cahoots with George Bush, Halliburton, Exxon and Chevrolet are numbered. TELEPORT GWB OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE!!!!!
you're an idiot. the american automakers will make what SELLS. not what is "good for the earth". and yes, this truck, along with ford and dodge, will outsell toyota camrys and honda accords, as they do every year. believe it or not, some people in this country actually do have to work for a living, farmers, contractors, and tons of other occupations. chevy builds a good truck, they deserve that award.
Having a little P.M.S. problem there? get to bed early tonight, sleep well, save your money, and with a little luck, maybe someday you will be able to afford a truck like this.
Just because it's your opinion doesn't mean it's right. believe it or not, we live in a (largely) free-market economy, where one is allowed (to some extent) sell what the public wants. Quit running and screaming, the sky is not falling.
thats because people need trucks like that to do work except for the fact its a chevy so its a shitty farm truck but yea its called the midwest people really do ned trucks like that buddy sorry we all dont live in the city
Ya ever tried to pull a stock trailer with a geo? ever tried hauling a load of scaffolding so you can roof a house with the gas sipping Honda? A LOT of people need to be able to haul things for work. they need to pull trailers. they need to bring a bunch of tools and a crew of people with them. A truck like this does all of the above and attempts to be as efficient as possible while doing it.
