Hybrid Cars- A Revolution In the Car Industry

are one of the excellent fruits of the hard work done in the car industry. These cars utilise more than two distinct power sources. Some of the major power sources include gasoline, or diesel fuels, solar, and hydrogen. This primary power source is coupled with one, or more electric motors.

Due to the augmented population, the world is facing numerous problems. There is a quick amplify for vehicles alongside the roads. This has given increase to contamination, and problems associated to the greater than before fuel prices. This dilemma is addressed by the immense minds, by formation of the hybrid cars.

Due to their amazing features, these cars are considered a revolution in the industry. These are the most environment friendly cars that have been manufactured so far. They have the minimum contribution to the environmental pollution. We all are aware that the air pollution is among the major problems that the world is facing. Hybrid cars are known to reduce this pollution by 90 percent. In this manner, it is helping greatly in the reduction in pollution.

Hybrid cars are economical with respect to the fuel. World is running out of natural fuel resources, so the need of the fuel economical vehicles is greatly increased. They are fuel efficient as compare to the traditional cars. They can get up to 60 miles per gallon in the city driving as compare to the typical cars that might travel 15 to 20 miles per gallon. These cars use three times as much fuel for travelling the same distance. The hybrid cars are better than others as a hybrid car battery recharges it as you drive. You do not need to plug in. Moreover, they possess a greater speed as compare to the typical cars.

There are two engines in a hybrid car. One is the electric motor, and the other is gasoline. The gasoline engine is automatically shut off, and the electric motor is switched on, when the car stops at the signals. Both engines work together, when more power is required.

These hybrid cars use power split technology. It is based on the gearbox. The electric motor along with the internal combustion engine provides additional power to assist the engine in accelerating, passing, or climbing. The motor provides the only power source where less power is required. In this way, it reduces the consumption of gasoline.

They also have a very efficient regenerative braking system. Energy is dissipated when the brakes are applied. The energy produced, turns on the engine, which acts as a generator. In this way, it saves the energy, which would have been wasted otherwise. The energy is stored in the battery for later use.

These cars have firm and puffed up tires. For a smooth ride, they are filled at a higher pressure. They offer a less bumpy, and comfortable ride due to the texture. The life of the tire is increased as the texture of the tires reduces the friction. They are also known for reducing the drag. Therefore, they use the reduced frontal area, and sometimes a stream lined texture.

  1. Is this what you do when you know you can't win? Fill your comments with useless insults? Bah, you kids make me laugh.

  2. I take a simple approach while evaluating weather brand contributes to stronger franchise. In my observation I find that in certain industries brand plays important role in adding 1) Customer loyalty2) Ability to price inflation3) Better ROI on branding and marketing efforts.A good example is Starbucks coffee. It has very loyal customer base. I find it very interesting that people are willing to pay $3.00 for a coffee and even if they increase the price by 10 cents to price inflation people do not stop drinking Starbucks coffee.Another example would be soap – Dove or Olay. In soft drinks it would be – Coke. Hence it is very important to grow the brand. While there are other industries where you have brands but having a brand is matter of competing and survival. Brand becomes a necessity than really giving the franchise a premium product.Take for example Laptops or PC industry. It is very important people to buy a laptop or PC from known company like Dell or HP for dependability and service. But this is just not enough. Price and features are also a factor.Hence we find that for a company branding has become a necessity to compete and survive. We find that brand1) Does not really contribute to Customer loyalty in a meaningful way2) Apart from need of brand there is usually a price war.3) Bad ROI on branding efforts. Some more examples would be in Hardware industryLike television, speakers, etcSony and Phillips are a brand but other than brand they have to have attractive pricing or more features.Auto industry is very interesting as well; you will see both the above conditions occurring. Branding matters in high priced luxury cars. There are repeated buyers of Mercedes and Lexus cars. While for low end cars like Toyota or Honda, branding is must for most consumers for dependability and service but price war is always on.Here branding effort needs to be maintained and is really a expenseIn my observation Branding efforts connected to personal use (skin care), consumption (snacks or soda) and creating emotion experience ( high end Hotel resorts) and entertainment plays important role and better ROI if done right.
