The Big Move From City To Country

Next time you go for a walk in your city, have a look around you at the changing faces of today’s cities. They are doing everything they can these days to lure people into their midst and harbors, gardens, paths and restaurants are appearing all over the place.

There are those who adore the frantic lifestyle that city living brings, and in particular they don’t have to drive and find that ever elusive parking space.

The efforts our cities have been making to attract us to live there have been huge, and in some have been quite successful.

There are some people who wouldn’t consider living in the city for a second. They love driving, the peace and quiet and being able to go for long walks with having to dodge hundreds of people.

On the other hand, if you are a long term suburb or city resident, moving out into the country can take an awful lot of getting used to. Everything isn’t on your doorstep as it was before, and if you realize you need something in the evening; chances are there will be nowhere open in the vicinity.

So you are living that country life you’ve always dreamed of, but the one thing you can’t avoid is that to get your groceries you must drive to a large market near the city. To make these trips as infrequent as possible make a list and check your cupboards before leaving the house.

If you are a long way out, make sure that you are stocked up on essentials that aren’t perishable. Toilet paper and tissues if anyone should get a cold or stomach upset, canned goods in case you can’t make the trip for some reason and also toiletries.

Think about these things carefully and get yourself a system that works. This ensures that your peaceful lifestyle won’t be ruined by running out of essential items.

  1. homeowners are so stupid… if your contractor has onesided step ladders hes rippin you a new one… and hes not a professional…and never pay clowns like this? by the hour…

  2. In general, less is more. If it's stacked with stuff, thin it out. keep the best and only what's needed (store the other stuff elsewhare or sell it to pay for more upgrades).

Orange is a tough color to deal with. However, it goes well with teal and white. Add some teal touches, if you can and they won't clash with other things.

Keep it neat. messy looks bad, neat looks good. Doesn't matter how you feel about it, others see sophistication is neatness.

Got some money to burn? Consider adding chair rail (probably white).

Rectangular panels on the wall made by painting a thin stripe between two concentric rectangles of tape is very classic. Or do it with molding. If you've never seen this, look on Lowe's or Home Depot sites for ideas.

Put a glaze over the orange.

  5. oh dear— this sounds like folks treat you all in the Pharm-Biz pretty poorly…I usually go out of my way if I get excellent service(I typically write a letter of thanks to a manager/supervisor–I've done this with home-repair folks, and retail salespersons, and teachers…)if I receive poor or unfriendly service, I typically say NOTHING…Hang in there, and remember MOST folks truly appreciate your hardwork!]]>
