How to Insure Your Sports Car
Many drivers dream of owning a sports car, but sports cars can be a nightmare to insure. Fortunately, there are methods of getting the coverage you need without breaking your budget.
Always get more than one quote for your insurance coverage for your sports. Insurance is an intensely competitive business, and companies always try to offer you the lowest quote they can. Cost-competition can help you get a good deal.
Always be sure to get comprehensive coverage. It goes without saying that sports cars are major financial investments. It would be silly not protect your investment, especially in the current economy, when replacement after damage or theft may be very difficult indeed.
Become a member of clubs and organizations for sports car owners that can get you a break on your insurance costs. Many times, it is possible to get a discount on your policy just because you are a club member. Marquee clubs also negotiate cheaper rates for their members. Ask around, and you will find out which clubs offer the best rates.
If you also insure your home or your life, consider bundling your policies. Bundling is getting all your policies from the same company. When you get more than one policy from the same company, you may get significant savings on all our policies. Moreover, it is more convenient for you to deal with a single provider of all your insurance needs. Another way to save money is to consider increasing your deductible. Just raising your deductible one level can provide important savings on your premiums for your sports car. The only catch is, you must be able to pay the deductible should you need to file a claim.
Do you belong to a special category, like senior citizens or students? Many insurance providers offer discounts to these groups. However, drivers under 30 with sports cars can expect to pay some of the highest premiums around. Most students tend to be under 30, which makes a student discount on your car insurance all the more important.
You could also take a basic or defensive driving course to help lower the insurance costs on your sports car. Many insurance providers offer discounts for successfully completing these courses. You could also simply choose to drive less. You can scale back on your insurance premium if you only drive your sports car for a few months out of the year. See your insurance provider for details.
Insurance companies charge more to sports car drivers than to drivers of other vehicles because they have to pay out more claims for accidents and theft. Thieves target sports cars, forcing the company to charge you more. Whatever your individual needs, get in touch with an experienced insurance agent. He or she can examine your individual needs and come up with a comprehensive insurance plan that provides you with all the coverage you require. Make sure your investment is adequately insured so you may enjoy it for years to come.

Know what grinds my gears? Senior citizens…driving….in the fast lane … O______o someone had to say it.
I am now an unemployed SW student and just checked my UIC student insurance coverage. They call it Campus Care and it is through the UIC hospital. Please take a look at the “benefits”.
Inpatient Hospital
Hospital Room and Board Expenses 100%
Inpatient Hospital Miscellaneous Expenses 100%
Mental Health Expense 100% with a $100 per day copayment
Substance Abuse 100% with a $100 per day copayment
I find a $100 dollar charge a day co-payment a stigmatizing issue.
“We” do NOT have enough resources to be chasing perceived slights that divide us. There are just too many genuine battles to be challenged/fought. The recent challenges that has sucked in NAMI and other mental health advocates against Psycho Donuts has been in my opinion a major drain of valuable resources.
Because, unless you want to pay for damage on your car from car crashes, fallen trees etc. You are going to need insurance
