What To Look For In A Gps Navigation System That Is Good For You

If you have been thinking about getting yourself a but not quite sure which one might be good for you. There are probably more out there than you would have first thought so it could make the decision making a little difficult. So to make life a little easier on your decision making below you will find five different systems that are considered the best.

A good one out on the market would be the Tom Tom Go 740. This nice little unit has some great features that include incident reports, traffic reports, five day weather reports, amongst others. All of this is powered by Google search and map. This particular model does seem to work faster than previous models.

This particular model of device is all real time and even has a feature where you can share your information with all your family and friends via their own instant messaging system. You can also get into the system and actually correct things that may be incorrect due to name changes, location changes, etc.

The battery life only being about two hours before you need to charge it and getting the actual directions seem to be somewhat slow seem to be the only draw backs for this GPS navigation device.

Garmin Nuvi 1690 is a GPS navigation system that actually offers free (ad supported) service from their NuLink data service which is a combination of ATandT and MSN Direct. For the first two years the service is ad supported and after that if you want to remove the ads you will be charged five dollars a month for their ad free service.

This GPS navigation device is packed full of features ranging from finding fuel prices to giving weather reports. A lot of the information can be gathered through Google search and their White Pages search. They also go as far as getting you flight information and movie information. This system also gives you the hands free service of Bluetooth.

The main draw back for this unit is that they use to have a memory card reader for regular SD cards but they have switched to microSD cards which very few people have at this time.

Tom Tom XL340 S is another GPS navigation system by Tom Tom and is a lower priced model than the Go 740 but that does not mean it is lacking in features or capabilities. It is a larger more readable model but that can make for making it less portable. Yet it has a wonderful safety feature which is speech to text technology which makes it easily hands free.

The great thing about he voice to text is that the responding voice can be English, Spanish or French and better yet if you want, you can download celebrity voices to add more fun to the experience.

Magellan Roadmate 1470 is a one touch GPS navigation system that puts all the most used destinations and places of interests by others at your finger tips at all times. It includes all the same features as most systems and the response time is very quick with its touch screen that displays very easy to see large icons.

The only thing that seems to be a problem with this GPS navigation system is the way it is mounted in the car causing the cable to get in the way.

Ever looked all of the portable gps deals that are in the world? Gps systems are definitely a big hit in the universe today. With the right GPS system, you will never get stranded again.

  1. This thing is worth the money. I? definitely love it!!

  2. Great Idea! I would also add that this would be a great safety device for back country backpackers and hiking enthusiasts. GPS systems could remain charged for long trips into the wilderness. I doubt that some cell phones would benefit as there would be no towers in range. They could also charge small computers and range finder gadgets. Not just for school kids!

  6. Ads on smartphones are a great tool for marketers. While I find it a little disturbing that marketers can literally track down consumers, I think that the ads are appropriate as long as consumers have the power to voluntarily signup to receive these ads. I have heard of certain GPS systems that include ads which allow the customer to not have to pay a monthly subscription fee for using the GPS system. Consumers who use these ad-driven services are also receiving some benefit from the companies that they subscribe to. In turn, I don’t see a problem with marketers tapping into the smartphone market. As long as consumers can choose whether or not ads appear, I think smartphone ad marketing is completely acceptable.
