I have just bought a used truck from a friend of mine. It is not the prettiest thing because I must remove truck stickers that he went bonkers over. I would prefer my vehicle not having any of those advertisements on it. So, I plan to take care of them this weekend. I do not think it will be too difficult.

One thing that is very important to have, is a gun which produces heat or a hair drier. A little bit at a time, I will heat sections of the stickers for about half a minute to one minute. As quick as I can, I will take off as much of the sticker as possible. I have to remember to stay calm and eventually I will have it all gone. I must be careful not to heat the sections for too long. This might take off the vehicle’s paint.

It has been recommended you use either a hair drier or a heat gun. I suggest if you do this at all, you do not keep the heat on for an extended period of time. Heat a small area for about thirty seconds to a minute then, immediately try to remove what you can. If you heat this for more than the time allotted you may peel off the paint from your vehicle.

Article three is a simple tool my daddy left at my house when he was putting up drywall. It is a putty knife that is made of plastic. When I got tired of using my fingernails, I simply used the trusty putty knife. It worked very well. I was glad to have it by my side.

I also love using a plastic putty knife. Yes, I know that may be silly to some people. But, it actually works quite well. Scraping can make your nails sore. Especially if you have to get off many stickers as I do. This gives my nails a break and will not scratch my truck. Of course, I must take care not to push too hard because plastic can also damage.

When you are peeling be sure to pull with the sticker at a ninety degree angle. But, do this slowly. Do not rush this part of your work. You will get more done if you will pull as the glue releases. Keep heating with the drier or heat gun, pull off what you can and repeat the process.

Now take a mixture of one part alcohol to one part water and put this into a spray bottle. Spray this liquid on the glue residue which is left on the body of your truck. Let this soak in for about two minutes. Now take your finger and rub. This should release the residue. Spray again with the solution. Rub with your finger again. Keep doing this until all (or most) of the excess is gone.

Now, take some dish washing liquid (or another mild soap) with some warm water and clean the area. You may need to use the alcohol and water again. Once you have washed the area, polish the section with wax. Also, do this in the shade. You do not want the sun messing up your work for you.
