A Few Great Reasons That One Might Want To Look At Garage Floor Mats
If you are particularly picky about what the final product looks like, you might want to take a look at garage floor tile or epoxy garage floor paint, but if the main priority is to get things done without staining the concrete, you should consider garage floor mats. Although, keep in mind, this may not be your best option for the long term. Here is a bit of information to help you understand why some people decide on garage floor mats as opposed to paint or tiles, to help you choose the best garage flooring for you.
Your Lowest Cost Option Could Be Garage Floor Mats
A garage floor mat could very easily be the cheapest option. Well, a compartment mat could, anyway. Compartment mats are used for protecting small areas of concrete garage floor to prevent damage. There’s parking mats, too, and full garage mats, though those are certainly not all that cheap. Actually, compartment mats sometimes get expensive as well if you end up getting one with lots of features, like tall, concave edges, and liquid absorption. But when everything is said and done, a mat is the only way for protecting garage floors that will cost less than $60, except maybe a cheap epoxy garage floor coating.
It Doesn’t Get Any Easier To Install
You would think this would be readily apparent, but then lots of people don’t think the time it takes, or how hard it can be to apply something like an epoxy garage floor coating. Many of them end up paying a contractor for installation, which totally destroys the cheap price of that epoxy kit. Picking up a cheap garage floor mat is quite simple. In fact, you just might spend as much, if not more time choosing which mat to buy than installing it.
Garage Floor Mats Cover Even The Most Damaged Floors
If your concrete garage floor is in really bad shape, you might not even be able to use peel and stick garage floor tiles or epoxy. When you’re in this position, you’ve really only got two options: a garage floor mat, or snap together tiles. Interlocking tiles are in no way cheap. Smaller sets, which really only compare to compartment mats without the raised edges, can cost over $300. If you’re not going for a specific look, I can’t see how that’s worth the cost.
Garage Floor Mats Make Cleanup A Breeze
Some mats actually absorb liquid, be it oil or water, which is especially cool because you can generally just wring them out later. This is great for the environment because it allows you to pick the spilled chemicals up and move them to a safe location. Even those mats that just have raised edges give you this option to a degree. The ability to pick the mess up and relocate it cannot be overstated. Will it matter to you? I guess that depends on how often you make a mess!
