This isn't like a miniature MG at all. The internal parts have no detail, just an internal skeleton of ball joints, like many HGUCs have going back to the Z'gok and Gogg.
The difference is that these are multi-part joints molded on one tree with System Injection technology, like Perfect Grade kits' fingers.
What this is really like is a revival of the concepts of the original range of 1/144 High Grade kits from the early 90s, long before the HGUC, MG and PG brands were created. The original HG RX-78 Gundam and Gundam Mk. II had the same kind of System Injection joints, and original redesigns by Okawara.
This RG kit, however, seems to have a design that's just a minor revision of the 30th Anniversary design, as seen on the 1/1 statue, which has already been made into a 1/144 HGUC kit.
So this is all just a gimmick, and an old gimmick at that, not an upgrade of 1/144 scale kit technology to MG levels. The test will be if the new joint system makes it more fun to build or produces better posing.
