This is true of domestic travel as well as international. Because any personal item is not covered by carriers insurance, the risk is not worth it. Stuffing belongings in your vehicle also adds to the weight, which can affect the international carrier and their trucks by causing damage to your vehicle’s suspension in the loading and unloading process.
